One Step Closer Logo
Recently, I made contact with Tim David, the founder and director of One Step Closer. He is putting together a figure skating benefit exhibition that will take place in New York City's Central Park on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Olympic Champion, Oksana Baiul, will skate in the show which will raise money for the Aids Resource Foundation for Children.

I wish I lived closer to New York, so I could attend. This is a great cause.

Six Degrees of Figure Skating Separation!

Figure skaters have a link that only other figure skaters understand.
It seems like every figure skater is somehow connected to another figure skater.

The Six Degrees of Separation theory states that everybody on this planet is separated by only six other people. In the figure skating world, that has to be true!

Figure skaters have a link that only other figure skaters understand. Our link as skaters seems to cross every barrier. The ice skating world is certainly a connected skating world!

Figure Skaters Need to Eat Right
One day, long ago, when I was a very young competitive figure skater, my coach asked me to pay close attention to what I ate each day. Eating right should begin when ice skaters are young. Yes, figure skaters of all ages must eat a healthy and balanced diet. I've put together a suggested meal plan for figure skaters.
